Crash The Colony and Kill The Queen

Fire Ants are a serious pest throughout the Southern United States. The Red Imported Fire Ant (Solenopsis invicta) is one of many native and invasive fire ant species, and their range is spreading rapidly Northward in temperate, humid regions. Fire Ants have a painful sting, can cause allergic reactions in mammals, and can be deadly to elderly people or those with compromised immune systems. Additionally, Fire Ants wreak havoc with their characteristic nesting activity known as mound building. Mound building causes economic and safety issues around building slabs, irrigation heads and boxes, and electric equipment. Fire Ants also cause problems for livestock, crops and machinery, and wildlife.

Quali-Pro offers several types of Fire Ant Control products to meet the needs of any applicator in any situation. When searching for a control program, various factors need to be taken into consideration such as fire ant pressure, site sensitivity, and longevity of suppression. Contact insecticides (like Quali-Pro Bifenthrin) control Fire Ants but offer limited residual efficacy. Quali-Pro Taurus Trio G and Quali-Pro Fipronil offer season-long control but must be applied by a licensed professional.

Quali-Pro is excited to announce a proprietary product with Combination Chemistry named “Doxem Plus Fire Ant Bait”. Quali-Pro Doxem Plus Fire Ant Bait offers fast control, and up to months long suppression without the restrictions of a “Professional Use Only” product. Doxem Plus combines Indoxacarb, Pyriproxyfen, and Novaluron as active ingredients, which offers three different modes-of-action in one easy to apply product. With three different active ingredients, Doxem Plus offers another tool for Integrated Pest Management applicators to minimize the chance of insecticide resistance. Doxem Plus is target specific, effective at low use rates, and ready-to-use in either a 12 oz. shaker bottle or a four pound shaker bottle. Doxem Plus may be applied in a broadcast spreader for larger areas or applied directly from the shaker cap for individual mound treatments. The product is safe and effective at very low use rates (1.5 pounds per acre), and kills the Colony Queen, assuring the mound does not relocate and re-establish. It starts working in as little as three days and prevents new mound establishment for up to 90 days. Doxem Plus also controls bigheaded ants, pavement ants, and turfgrass ants. Doxem Plus has a flexible label and may be applied to a wide range of use sites, including sensitive areas like schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. For a full list of use sites, insects controlled, and safety precautions please see full label.
