CSI's product development team conducted comprehensive laboratory efficacy studies to evaluate the performance of our new essential oil-based solution, Vector KLEER. These studies tested Vector KLEER against structural pests, including mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas, assessing its effectiveness both as a direct spray and as a spatial repellent. In each trial, Vector KLEER was compared to untreated controls and competitor products, consistently demonstrating its ability to rapidly reduce pest populations and deliver residual protection. The following sections present the findings from these studies, showcasing how Vector KLEER meets and often exceeds existing standards for effective pest control.
Vector KLEER has been put to the test against Aedes aegypti (Yellow Fever) mosquitoes in a lab study conducted by Snell Scientifics . The study compared the effectiveness of a single direct spray application of Vector KLEER at two different rates (1.5 and 3 oz/gal) against untreated control groups and competitor products.
Results showed impressive mosquito mortality at various time intervals, including 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, and 24 hours after application. The study used four replicates of 10 adult mosquitoes for each treatment to ensure accurate and consistent results. As shown in Figure 1, one individual replicate involved holding mosquitoes within solo cups after application.
Figure 2. This graph shows the mortality percentage after direct application of Vector Kleer at 2 rates and D-Fense SC.
The findings highlight the powerful performance of Vector KLEER, providing rapid and reliable mortality of mosquitoes, even compared to a pyrethroid.
Conclusions: Vector KLEER performed exceptionally well at both tested rates (1.5 and 3 oz/gal), achieving 100% mosquito mortality within 24 hours. It worked faster than the pyrethroid (deltamethrin) and outperformed EcoVia MT, which only reached 78% mortality. Vector Kleer also delivered results comparable to Stop the Bites, despite being tested at lower use rates.
Vector KLEER has shown impressive results as a direct spray against cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) in a laboratory study conducted by Snell Scientifics. The study compared the effectiveness of a single application of Vector Kleer to an untreated control.
Researchers monitored fleas at various intervals, including 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, and 48 hours after exposure. The results demonstrated Vector KLEER's rapid knockdown of cat fleas, making it a powerful option for control.
Conclusions: Vector Kleer proved highly effective against cat fleas, achieving ≥80% mortality within 48 hours. Control mortality remained below the acceptable threshold. Vector Kleer meets the AAPCO Product Efficacy Guidance for controlling pests of significant public health importance, making it a reliable choice for flea management.
Vector KLEER has consistently demonstrated exceptional efficacy across multiple pest control applications, from mosquitoes to fleas. Whether as a direct spray or a spatial repellent, it has proven to be highly effective, providing rapid knockdown and long-lasting control. Tested in various laboratory settings, Vector Kleer exceeded industry standards, making it a reliable solution for pest management. With proven results in independent studies, Vector Kleer stands out as a top choice for tackling pests that pose significant public health risks.
