Termites are social insects and although the most common termites to attack structures in the US are subterranean, their nests may be in more places than underground. Depending on the species and also if your customers home has had any leaks (roof, plumbing, or otherwise) the nests may also be in wall voids, attics and many other above-ground locations like tree stumps.
